Mark Prefontaine MA, CFA, ICD.D.

Mark is a seasoned executive and board member. He currently serves as the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer with the Agriculture Financial Services Corporation in Alberta. He has held other senior positions in crown corporations and in the Alberta Public Service, such as Assistant Deputy Minister of Financial Sector Regulation and Policy, Superintendent of Pensions, Superintendent of Insurance, and Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Commissionaires of Northern Alberta, chairing the Audit Committee. As well, he is the Chief Appeals Commissioner for the Employment Pensions Tribunal in Alberta.

Mr. Prefontaine received a undergraduate degree in Honours Economics and Commerce from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Masters degree from the Royal Roads University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an ICD.D.
