The General Insurance Statistical Agency (“GISA”) operates as a statistical agent on behalf of the insurance regulatory authorities of Alberta, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and the Yukon. GISA is a federally incorporated, not-for-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors, with representation from the nine participating insurance regulatory authorities, the property and casualty insurance industry, and the public.
GISA was incorporated on June 28, 2005 as an independent legal entity under the Canada Corporations Act – Part II to carry out the activities of a statistical agent on behalf of participating Canadian jurisdictions.
