David McCarron, Executive Director, Department of Finance and Treasury Board, Nova Scotia

David McCarron is the Executive Director of Financial Institutions at Nova Scotia’s Department of Finance and Treasury Board. He was appointed Superintendent of Insurance, Credit Unions, Trust and Loan Companies and Pensions in 2020. Prior to his current role he managed Housing, in Nova Scotia’s Finance Division for over 10 years.

He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business from Cape Breton University.
David currently serves on the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR) and the Credit Union Prudential Supervisory Association (CUPSA).
